- Drug Testing Fees: Express Labs charges $80 for Laboratory Drug Test Results, which includes the Collection Fee & MRO Services when Ordering Online in your Express Labs Account or when using the Paper Quest Diagnostics Custody & Control Forms (CCF) that Express Labs provides at an In-Network Collection Sites
- Breath Alcohol Testing Fees: Express Labs charges $80 for DOT Breath Alcohol Test Results when Ordering Online in your Express Labs Account or Choose Any Site that performs DOT Breath Alcohol Testing, Pay for the Test, and send Express Labs the Results with the Receipt of Payment
When are Drivers Added to the Random Pool?
Upon Enrolling: Drivers can be Added During Enrollment that have been in a Random Pool within the Previous 30 Days and have Negative Pre-Employment Drug Test Results in your Company Name
After Enrolling: Send Drivers for Pre-Employment Drug Testing by Ordering Online or using the Quest Paper Forms we provide (If you can't Order Online). After Enrolling, Express Labs does not accept Drug Test Results from other Companies
- DOT Requires a New Pre-Employment DOT Drug Test if a Driver or your Company has not been in a Random Pool within the Previous 30 Days
When are Drivers Cleared to Drive?
Drivers are Cleared to Drive when the Drug & Alcohol Policy and Full Query in the Clearinghouse has been Completed and All Supervisors have Completed the Supervisor Training Course (Owner Operators are Exempt)
- The Drug & Alcohol Policy has a Release Granting Employers Authorization to send Drivers for Pre-Employment Drug Testing
- The Full Query in the FMCSA Clearinghouse is to Check for any Prior Drug and Alcohol Violations and make sure the Driver is Cleared to Drive
- The Supervisor Online Course is to Determine if Drivers are Abusing Drug and Alcohol for Reasonable Suspicion Testing

DOT Requires Employers & Owner Operators to Conduct a Full Query on Drivers, Prior to Pre-Employment Drug Testing, in the FMCSA Clearinghouse to Check for any Prior Drug and Alcohol Violations to make sure the Driver is Cleared to Drive and Limited Queries for All Drivers within 1 Year of Driver's Hire Date

- Random Selections: All Random Selections must be Completed. Express Labs Emails Random Selections and Posts the Random Selections in Member's Express Labs Accounts in January, April, July & October. The following Guidelines are provided by the US Department of Transportation Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance. You are subject to Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations under FMCSA (49 CFR Part 382) and DOT (49 CFR Part 40) if your Drivers:
- Hold a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), or similar License issued by Mexico or Canada, and
- Operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) in any State with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating or Gross Combination Weight Rating of 26,001 or more pounds, or
- With the Capacity to Carry 16 or more Passengers (Including the Driver), or
- Of Any Size that is used to Transport Hazardous Materials which Require the Vehicle to be Placarded
