Alcohol Testing Instructions
Order DOT Breath Alcohol Tests through your Express Labs account. If Online Ordering is unavailable, use any DOT Breath Alcohol Testing site and email the results to Express Labs.
Online Alcohol Ordering
- Log in to your Express Labs account and click Order Alcohol Tests
- Select the Reason for Testing
- Use the Site Locator to select a collection site
- Click Complete Order
- Call to confirm the site is open and accepting walk-ins
- Check your email for the QPassport (usually within 1 hour), then bring it with photo ID to the site
Use Any Alcohol Site
Use any DOT Breath Alcohol Testing site. Pay for the test and email the results to Express Labs. Collection sites include urgent cares, Concentra, health clinics or hospitals.
- Search Google for "DOT Breath Alcohol Testing" or use the Site Locator – View Sites
- Call to confirm the site is open and accepting walk-ins
- Email the results (and paid receipt, if applicable) to results@expresslabs.com
Important Reminders
- Members are charged for results, not QPassport orders
- Drivers should only sign DOT forms listing their employer/company
- Breath Alcohol Test Results must be emailed to Express Labs if the test is not ordered onlinename
Alcohol Results
- Online Orders: Results are automatically uploaded to your account, and a confirmation email is sent.
- Not Ordered Online: Email your Breath Alcohol Test Results to Results@ExpressLabs.com. Include the paid receipt (if applicable) and use "Breath Alcohol Results" as the subject.
Breath Alcohol Fees
- DOT Breath Alcohol Tests: $80
- Invoices are due upon receipt. A valid credit card is required to maintain active accounts
DOT’s Breath Alcohol Testing Process
1. Collection Site
- Driver reports to a DOT-certified collection site
- A Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) performs the test
2. Testing
- The driver provides a breath sample
- DOT requires a confirmation test for results of 0.02 or higher
3. Results
- Below 0.02: Negative
- 0.02–0.039: Removed from driving for 24 hours
- 0.04 or higher: Removed from safety-sensitive duties and referred for the DOT Return-to-Duty process
